Wolf Cat Fever (Australia – 2025) – Trailer
Un delirio febbricitante dedicato e ispirato al rock’n’roll selvaggio dei Cramps. Quando la chitarrista Furr Fever incontra il cantate Wolfy Howl scattano (letteralmente) le scintille. La loro band, i Sextortions, combatte puritanesimo e conformismo in un tripudio di scazzottate, numeri musicali, modellini e pupazzetti. Come dice il trailer “Un film senza alcuna intelligenza, artificiale o reale!”, scritto e diretto da Josh Sinbad Collins (il produttore di Pervirella).

GLADIO: Monster Battles in the Alternate Dimension (Giappone – 2026) – Teaser
Un Kaiju Eiga diretto da Yoshikazu Ishii, regista di alcuni episodi della serie di Ultraman e professionista degli effetti speciali pratici. In questo film un gruppo di persone viene trasportato in una dimensione parallela e costretto a combattere il terribile mostro Gladio. Ovviamente il Kaiju è realizzato nell’unico modo degno di nota: una tutona indossata da un attore che porta morte e distruzione in una città in miniatura!

Room Temperature (USA – 2025) – Trailer
Un uomo coinvolge tutta la sua famiglia nella sua ossessione: costruire una “casa infestata” come attrazione di halloween per il vicinato. Un giovanissimo bidello si avvicina incuriosito allo strano mondo di questa famiglia, che ogni anno si cimenta in questa impresa.
I registi Dennis Cooper e Zac Farley ci immergono nella realtà ultra bizzarra dei protagonisti. Pensatelo come una versione depressiva e criminale di Napoleon Dynamite.

Still Ohio (USA – 2026) – Trailer
Il primo lungometraggio di Kaylin Allshouse, che ha già portato il suo corto sci-fi PARTNR a CineUnderground nel 2023.
In questo horror paranormale un gruppo di studenti rimane imprigionato in un loop temporale durante un infinito viaggio in macchina. Angoscia e violenza aumentano ogni volta che il ciclo si ripete e non sembra esserci via di uscita: sono ancora bloccati in Ohio.

Línguas de Fogo (Brasile – 2024) – Trailer
Qui siamo nell’underground puro e grezzo come piace a noi!
Due suore si inoltrano nella foresta amazzonica armate di fucile e videocamera per portare la parola di dio a una tribù mai contattata dalla civiltà. Aspettatevi DI TUTTO: un branco di cinghiali interpretato da persone travestite con maschere di cartapesta, vampiri, escrementi, il malvagio Roberto Carlos! Il regista Zé Kielwagen mette in scena un vero e proprio delirio che mischia documentario, film trash e video arte.

Hellmare (USA – 2026) – Trailer
Nel 1997 un gruppo di amici si riunisce in una vecchia e sinistra casa per guardare un rarissimo horror in videocassetta: Hellmare. Il nastro purtroppo è maledetto e risucchia i protagonisti all’interno della videocassetta dove dovranno combattere un killer mascherato da cavallo INSIEME a tutti i mostri presenti nei trailer prima del film principale.
Diciamo solo: produzione ultra indipendente diretta da Victor Gabriel e distribuita dalla TROMA.

Anything That Moves (USA – 2025) – Trailer
Non poteva mancare un film VM18 anche in questa edizione del festival! Un sex worker a domicilio capace di provocare orgasmi mistici a chiunque, indipendentemente da sesso, età o estrazione sociale, viene perseguitato da un sadico killer che elimina tutti i suoi clienti in una scia di sangue e perversione.
Il regista Alex Phillipps è bravissimo a creare un’atmosfera onirica dove tutto sembra essere concesso in questo thriller/giallo/erotico girato e meravigliosamente fotografato in pellicola.

Questo perché CineUnderground è un festival DAVVERO underground e questi film avranno delle premiere molto più prestigiose che devono ancora essere annunciate, ma che si svolgeranno prima di novembre.

Fino all’annuncio ufficiale i nostri mystery movie hanno una sorta di “embargo”, ma questo dovrebbe solo farvi crescere la curiosità e la voglia di scoprire cosa abbiamo in programma per voi!!! Wolf Cat Fever (Australia – 2025) – Trailer
A feverish, delirious romp dedicated to and inspired by the wild rock ’n’ roll of The Cramps. When guitarist Furr Fever meets singer Wolfy Howl, sparks (literally) fly. Their band, the Sextortions, battles puritanism and conformism in a riot of fistfights, musical numbers, scale models and puppets. As the trailer puts it: “A film without any intelligence, artificial or real!”
Written and directed by Josh Sinbad Collins (the producer of Pervirella).

GLADIO: Monster Battles in the Alternate Dimension (Giappone – 2026) – Teaser
A Kaiju Eiga directed by Yoshikazu Ishii, director of several episodes of the Ultraman series and an expert in practical special effects. In this film, a group of people are transported to a parallel dimension and forced to battle the terrifying monster Gladio. Naturally, the Kaiju is created with a full-body suit worn by an actor who brings death and destruction to a miniature city!

Room Temperature (USA – 2025) – Trailer
A man drags his whole family into his obsession: building a ‘haunted house’ as a Halloween attraction for the neighbourhood. A young janitor draws closer to the strange world of this family, who take on this challenge every year.
Directors Dennis Cooper and Zac Farley immerse us in the utterly bizarre reality of the protagonists. Think of it as a depressive and criminal version of Napoleon Dynamite.

Still Ohio (USA – 2026) – Trailer
Kaylin Allshouse’s debut feature film, following her sci-fi short PARTNR, which was screened at CineUnderground in 2023.
In this paranormal horror film, a group of students find themselves trapped in a time loop during an endless car journey. Anxiety and violence escalate with each repetition of the cycle, and there seems to be no way out: they are still stuck in Ohio.

Línguas de Fogo (Brasile – 2024) – Trailer
This is the pure, raw underground we love!
Two nuns venture deep into the Amazon rainforest, armed with a rifle and a video camera, to bring the word of God to a tribe that has never been contacted by civilisation. Expect EVERYTHING: a herd of wild boars played by people in papier-mâché masks, vampires, excrements, and the evil Roberto Carlos! Director Zé Kielwagen stages an incredible blend of documentary, trash cinema and video art.

Hellmare (USA – 2026) – Trailer
In 1997, a group of friends gather in an old, eerie house to watch an extremely rare horror film on VHS: Hellmare. Unfortunately, the tape is cursed and sucks the protagonists into the cassette, where they must fight the killer of the movie TOGETHER with all the monsters featured in the trailers before the main film.
Suffice to say: an ultra-independent production directed by Victor Gabriel and distributed by TROMA.

Anything That Moves (USA – 2025) – Trailer
This year’s festival wouldn’t be complete without an 18+ film!
A call-out sex worker capable of inducing mystical orgasms in anyone, regardless of gender, age or social background, is hunted down by a sadistic killer who eliminates all his clients in a trail of blood and perversion.
Director Alex Phillipps is brilliant at creating a dreamlike atmosphere where anything seems possible in this thriller/mystery/erotic movie, beautifully captured on film.
