After 7 editions and 10 years as the Italian home base for ultra-independent horror, sci-fi, fantasy, action and trash cinema, CineUnderground is leveling up: from film festival to distribution label. Built on the foundation of the Circolo Gagarin in Busto Arsizio and years of experience bringing cult titles to Italy — often as their first-ever local screenings — films like VelociPastor, Hundreds of Beavers, Pater Noster and the Mission of Light, Animal Math and Mr. Melvin have all called this place home. Now CineUnderground is taking the next step: following these films beyond the screen and giving them the physical, collector-worthy editions they’ve always deserved.

The debut release had to make a statement: Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. Unveiled at the last festival edition in November 2025, Lee Demarbre’s 2001 cult classic officially kicks off CineUnderground’s new chapter. Years of collaboration with the director have resulted in an exclusive restoration that puts Our Lord back on the streets of Ottawa — vampires beware — with the original 16mm film look fully intact. The goal is as ambitious as it sounds: bring this restoration to film festivals around the world in 2026, celebrating the film’s 25th anniversary.
